Joshua Nason Lane is a Columbus, Ohio-based recording engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and artist with a lifelong foundation in music and hands-on industry experience.

He began playing guitar at just eight years old, developing his sound entirely self-taught. Throughout middle school and high school, he performed in bands and recording early EPs, building a deep-rooted understanding of songwriting and production from the ground up.

Lane broke into the live music industry in an unconventional way - literally jumping a guardrail at the front of a stage while being chased by security to introduce himself and secure his first job as a stagehand with PromoWest Productions. From 2003 to 2006, he worked behind the scenes at major shows at the PromoWest Pavilion gaining firsthand exposure to professional live production.

During that time, he expanded into touring, working as a guitar and piano tech for a side project connected to Acoustic Hookah, further sharpening his technical skillset on the road.

A pivotal moment came in 2006 while still working at PromoWest Pavilion when he connected with Rob Thomas during a tour stop. After sharing a demo, Lane was invited into a period of direct mentorship and creative development alongside Evan Lamberg. During this time, he was flown to New York City for meetings and sessions, gaining rare firsthand exposure to the major-label system from both the artist and executive level.

In 2010, Lane took his experience to Nashville working with the production company IMAG where he contributed to large-scale productions involving major artists such as Reba McEntire, Rascal Flats, and Tool. This chapter expanded his expertise into high-level touring and production environments within one of the world’s leading music cities.

That early mentorship later came full circle. In 2018, Lane collaborated, recorded, and toured nationally with members of Matchbox Twenty, including guitarist Kyle Cook, bringing his journey back into the professional touring world at a high level.

Building on that experience, Lane founded New Tribe Entertainment releasing music under his artist name Nason Lane while continuing to expand his work behind the scenes.

Today he operates Pro Standard Studio in Columbus, Ohio, where he specializes in mixing, mastering, and audio editing for artists worldwide. With hundreds of songs recorded and a lifetime dedicated to music, Lane brings a hybrid perspective - combining artist intuition, technical precision, and real-world industry experience to every project he touches.
